This piece created for a small exhibition that was part of a recent evening at the Gunnison Arts Center. Hors d'oeuvres and conversation, the play CUPS, written and performed by Joni Sheram . . . . . then afterwards, visiting with the playwright, coffee and truffles from Maxines and Reds. I've wanted to work with screen since seeing the work of Boulder artist, Arabella Tattershall at the Crested Butte Arts Festival last summer. I loved her wire and metal mesh sculpture and her near-to-life size dresses and bodices and I am certain that her work inspired this piece This is a wall piece using bent copper wire for the framework and old screen door mesh. The screencame from a free pile at a last summer west Gunnison yard sale. Coiled copper wire and strung beads with a nestled mermaid shrinelet, Approx. 5"h x 15"w. $95. Purchased by the playwright.
